- the reach to the apostrophe(') is with the ";" finger straight to the key to its right. Spacing rule: There is no space before or after an apostrophe unless the apostrophe is the last character in the word, then space 1 time. Examples: May's house; it's; isn't; Herndons' family reunion
- the reach for the hyphen is ";" up to the hyphen (-). Spacing rule: there is no space before or after a hyphen in a hyphenated word. Example: well-dressed models
