Incoming Activity:
Warmup for 15 minutes: IT201 and IT 203 will be using the books form IT201 today.
Turn to page 203 and type each line 1x after reading the following:
- the reach to the apostrophe(') is with the ";" finger straight to the key to its right. Spacing rule: There is no space before or after an apostrophe unless the apostrophe is the last character in the word, then space 1 time. Examples: May's house; it's; isn't; Herndons' family reunion
- the reach for the hyphen is ";" up to the hyphen (-). Spacing rule: there is no space before or after a hyphen in a hyphenated word. Example: well-dressed models
- the reach for the quotes is ";" finger straight over to the " " key using your left shift key to make the quote. Spacing rule: there is one space before the left quote, no space after; no space before the right quote. Example: Mrs. Herndon said, "Sit up straight in your chairs."
After the warmup, record the above three rules for the apostrophe, hyphen, and quotes in your notebook (Spacing Rules)
