Friday, Nov. 14 Finish Work Scenario and Yesterday's Handout

Today's Activities:

1. Warmup is from the handout, “Friends”, for 15 minutes and save the document as friends.

2. Finish “Work Scenario Project” assignments today. Please ask the teacher for the handout.

3. *Students from Period 2 need to complete yesterday’s assignment, “Basic Style for Citations of Web Sources” by answering as many of the 7 parts of information from the source at www.bls.gov/k12/index.htm and turn the paper into the in-basket with your name on it.

4. Students who have finished Activities 1- 3 above, get the handout from the teacher, "Start Your Research Assignment, ” and start working on the activities on this paper (write your name on the paper and write down the information requested). Hold on to this handout for Monday.

Thursday, November 13 Getting Ready for Your Career Research Report

Warm-up:
First 15 minutes: Type in Word the next MLA report, The Recent History of Alcatraz in double-spaced indented paragraphs. Those who have already turned in the report for a grade can work in Micropace Drills and Game, then take a 3 minute timed write on TW 29, page 24.

Monday, November 10 Finishing Work Scenario Project

  1. First 15 minutes: Type in Word the next MLA report, The Recent History of Alcatraz in double-spaced indented paragraphs.
  2. Use the rest of class today to finish the Work Scenario Project (remember there are 3 jobs: one is an email, one is a memorandum, and one is a letter). For each job you must make up appropriate information to fit the situation.
  3. If you finish the project before the end of class, work in Micropace on the drills, game, timing on TW 24, page 29

Period 6: use the unarranged letter copy from page 123, Document 1, replacing the writer as you and replace the date with today's date. This letter is to Mrs. Alice M. Wiggins.
